I remember serving in the children's ministry. they gave the kid's loads of candy and then they kids were SO hyper it was impossible to teach them. I suffer from depression and went to a women's retreat and they prayed the devil out of me. When they had a meeting the Sunday after, they basically told me NEVER to pray for anyone at that church because "they didn't know what was in me" ... this experience at the time affected my faith adversely. Sometimes people "have thorns" umm Paul did and he was a christian. Why is it any different now? Spiritual gifts are given to everyone and we are all connected and when we are unkind to one person we offend all including God. I really loved the music at the services but it was difficult to feel the connection. In my heart I really just wanted to serve but was turned away. I no longer attend church but am still a believer.
