The rude receptionist is no longer employed there after being given many chances. The vets are animal friendly and competent. Dr. Adcock is an outstanding orthopedic and surgical vet and Dr. Gorney is a wonderful and caring diagnostician who gives you all your options. I have relied on them since they bought the practice from Harrison and Hayes.
Dr Adcock and his staff are the best. From the ease of scheduling to the great communication during our dogs procedures to the great follow up afterwards, we couldn't be happier. We live in Mt Pleasant SC and really like our vet here, but wanted a second opinion on a mass on our dog's stomach this past summer. Dr Adcock took the time to personally email with me back and forth for a few days and we decided that the mass needed to come off and that he would be doing the procedure. Everything went great and they only thing I left wishing for was that the office was closer than the 3 hour drive. Fast forward to last week when we find out that our pup had a fractured tooth that needed to be removed and it wasn't even a question who would be doing it. We made the trip and once again couldn't be happier. We feel like we are regular patients after only 2 visits and even though our primary care vet is here in Mt Pleasant they make us feel like family. If everyone that uses them for their everyday veterinary needs feels half of the down home hospitality and genuine care that we do, then it should be a no brainer who to do business with. Thanks again to Dr Adcock and all the staff at Pine Street Animal Hospital.
I have been debating on whether or not to post this review, but I wish I had read some more honest reviews before I wasted a year with this vet. I have seen both Gorney and Adcock there, and Gorney was fine but I am very disappointed with Dr. Adcock.
At this point, I just wanted my dog better because it has now been nine months we're fighting this parasitic infection. Now, I'm a medical professional who has a degree in molecular biology. I'm no stranger to parasites, but I also don't treat animals. I asked Dr. Adcock questions any loving parent of a pet would ask. He was extremely rude and goes "well, I'm just going to give you the medicine since that is why you are here and if it keeps happening I'm going to have to look deeper." I asked him what that meant and did he think there was something underlying, and he rudely just walked out acting annoyed that I was asking him questions.
I love this place! First of all thank you to Hailey for being so patient and personable with me through my whole process, it made it so easy. Everyone is so nice and welcoming! The staff is wonderful. Very happy with my visit. Thank you!
I was clearly upset when I went to work and several of my patients asked me what was wrong. Every single one of them had a similar experience with that office. The worst part is the apathy by the doctors. I realize you see animals all day, but at some point you have to have some compassion. I see patients all day, and I always show compassion and care. Needless to say I will be pulling my dog from their care to find another vet that shows some compassion and can take more than 2 minutes per animal.
I took my dog in May when we found he had a small parasite infection. He was given medication. Three months later he was just as sick as before. I called the office and took in a stool sample. They said they couldn't find anything and to bring him in. I did bring him in and the tech told me she didn't trust the girl who looked at his first stool sample and performed another. Needless to say the first sample was done in a cursory manner and he did still have the infection. Another course of medication was prescribed. Almost exactly three month later the same thing happened. I called the office and asked if I needed to bring him in or if the doctor could consult on possibly why this isn't working. They recommended I bring my dog in, so naturally I did.
I’m not even sure where to start. It’s seems to me they’re out for the money, instead of the well being of the animals. I brought my dog in with a sprained wrist and they wrapped it and gave him medicine, ended up being about 300$. I was asked to come in the next Monday. I’m called Monday morning because they scheduled a surgery over my appointment and the receptionist was very rude and seemed to make me out as a bad person for not being able to come in 20 minuets because I’m in school and had a class. I go in the next day and they take off the cast and say to just have him keep taking the medication. Looking at him, it looks as if his wrist is crooked. Something completely missed by the “orthopedic specialist” I was supposedly seeing. Only good thing was the vet’s assistant, she was very kind to us and our baby.
