Was from out of town looking for a simple updo but was unwilling and unable to help.
After looking for several weeks for a place in the Spartanburg area that could highlight my very thick, curly hair, I just randomly picked Salon Surreal and Amber highlighted my hair. She did a great job and the facility was very nice. I will definitely go back and I recommend this place to anyone.
It has taken me quite some time to get around to this review. At the time, to avoid conflict i did not say anything but the more time passes the more i feel i should speak up. I went in for a consultation for a pretty extensive dye job, she told me it would be no more than $300, which was about accurate for what i was getting done. During my appointment she dropped towls and continued to use them, my head was sore to the touch by the end which has NEVER happened with anyone else before, or since then. She asked how i would like it styled and when i said straightened she insisted it be currled for her photo, dispite what i requested/paid for, and during my appointment she commented on something i was texting my friend about...implying she read my personal info in my phone while working on my hair. She was messy and not very considerate in my opinion. And most of all, she charged me $200 more than what she had promissed the price to be dispite what she had told me before. All in all, i will not be returing and i did not enjoy the environment of the care i recieved.
This place is fantastic! Penny is wonderful. I just happened to call them several months ago because the website looked professional and they received many good reviews; have been there 3 times now. Penny and all of the staff are friendly, efficient, and love what they do. After visiting here, your hair will not only look great, but you feel better mentally after chatting with Penny. Stylists never talk "around" you like you're not there - you're the focus of the whole visit, and you get what you need. Highly recommend. A++++
