Prime rib was cooked but cold in the center. It was rectangular and tasted like it was plopped out of a bag straight from the fridge. Their fix was to nuke it. Yep. Drink was refilled once and manager was unapologetic and had nothing to say to us about our poor visit. Could have walked over to Waffle House and gotten a MUCH better meal for half the price. DO NOT RECOMMEND this place!
I was there yesterday with my daughter. I ordered pot roast, came with mashed potatoes collards and coleslaw, daughter ordered popcorn shrimp. My roast was dry, barely any gravy, had to ask for some more, collards tasted sweet and sour, can't say anything about slaw because I was disappointed enough. You could tell some of my food was heated, had cold spots, nothing HOT. WALKED OUT PAYING 33.00$... Not worth the money.... If something doesn't change, the place will FOLD. Get a new manager and a COOK WHO KNOWS HOW TO COOK... All this went on around 2 pm so they cant say they was busy... maybe 4 people at bar, that was it.... Thank you
At the end of our meal i asked to see the manager in order to thank him for hiring our waitress. They were surprised but thankful. My wife requested a military discount (i had my VA card) & they gave a 20% off.
I say mostly pleasant because there was a loud baby a couple tables down(not the restaurants fault) & the ribs my wife ordered were slightly on the dry side.
An American restaurant that offers an amazing menu of goodies that are more than you can eat...very tasty, served nicely with great presentation. However, this time the service wasn't so hot...not sure if the server was new or aggravated, but she was kinda surly. Very unusual for our location to hit on our way to Lake Lure, NC. Still 5 stars, but that fifth star has some tarnish...
Our bill came to $28 & we left $40 & told the waitress to keep the change.
Inspire of some of the more negative reviews, we had a mostly pleasant experience.
Anyway, i say give this place a chance. If you have bad service - explain to the manager. If you have good service - let the manager know.
Jumbo shrimp was great, but don’t ask for the steamed broccoli. I’m not sure if they got someone new on the back, but somehow three people at my table got three different steam levels for our broccoli. Mine was still practically raw, and it was flavorless. Broccoli has at least some flavor. I had to put salt on it like crazy. Friend of mine had mushy broccoli, and another had perfectly steamed. I also had a plate that was to have two sides. You want to know what I didn’t get? My second side. My friend had to give me some of her fries, because our waiter didn’t even come back to see if things were okay, and then she was rude when grandparents asked for the check. As if it was so hard to hear them ask for it. Perhaps it’s a new management issue? Or a new line cook? New chef? But right now I wouldn’t go back. Thankfully we won’t be back in the area for about a year.
Other than those 2 things - our experience was great. The waitress was super sweet to us & kept our drinks full & the soft bread coming.
